About the role

The Community Engagement Manager will have the responsibility to plan, develop, deliver, and evaluate Community Engagement Programmes for the Festival. The role will involve a high level of collaboration with FOM colleagues, the client, external service providers, and a broad range of stakeholders.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Community engagement Manager is responsible for engaging with more communities in creative and sustained-leading festival city position locally and globally, by:

  • Mapping the community engagement opportunities of all the festivals, creating easy to access information to increase awareness of their offers, and extending connections with new areas and new partners across KSA

  • Increasing knowledge sharing on festivals management with creative professionals across KSA through networking, peer support, information and advice

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Reporting to the Executive Director and the client, the role will involve the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop a detailed Public and Community Engagement strategy for 2023 and get approval on it

    Lead the process of conceiving, developing and getting the approval on the Public and Community Engagement strategy 2024 and 2025

  • Ensure a smooth and effective implementation of the strategy by the contractor, within timeline and budget

  • Support all departments in producing and executing a world-class festival

    Perform other tasks as they arise and as delegated by Community Engagement

  • Attend regular team meetings

  • Work closely with the Artistic Management department to create a more cohesive public programme

  • Support in daily administrative tasks including calendar management and organising meetings

  • Attend internal and external meetings and assist with presentation preparation and minute taking

  • Research and benchmarking

  • Outreach and liaison. For example: set up meetings, assist with volunteer database, educational institutions and potential partners outreach and community leaders

  • Program development. For example: organising focus groups and one-to-one sessions for different program target audiences (i.e. art teachers for school programs).

  • Align and develop the Community Engagement strategy and plan

  • Manage and oversee the work and delivery of the contractors responsible for delivering the Festival.

  • Reviewing and quality assuring that all services and work-products delivered.

  • Attend site meetings where required.

  • Create excellent content and resources, as well as engagement and learning experiences in both formal and informal settings.

  • Ensure that activities and resources are accessible to all, including specific groups such as People of Determination.

  • Be the point of contact with stakeholders and ensure that all their needs and queries are addressed.

  • Ensure the client and stakeholders are aware of the schedule and all requirements which may be asked of them throughout the project.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working in GCC / Middle East is essential

  • Degree at masters level is preferred but bachelor is essential

  • A degree in Business or Arts Administration, Museum Studies, Event Management, Social worker or any related majors

  • Prior experience in event programming

  • Demonstrable interest in community outreach and/or social work and impact is preferred

  • A demonstrable track record of solid Project Manager experience

  • Must be a safe pair of hands, dependable, energetic and confident liaising and negotiating with various internal and external stakeholders.

  • Skilled at problem-solving, providing solutions and escalating only when absolutely necessary

  • Highly competent using trackers, meeting deadlines, monitoring and reporting.

  • Able to control large-scale, confidential contracts for each package.
