Where we work // Dubai

The Dubai Office

Dubai does not need an introduction: the home of the ‘Burj Khalifa’, the tallest building in the world, the largest indoor ski slope, and manmade palm tree shaped islands (yes that’s right, palm tree shaped). It sounds like a futuristic city only seen in movies… Well, Tom Cruise did climb Burj Khalifa in Mission Impossible, and we all know how impossible that movie is. Yet the city has achieved a perfect harmony between history, culture and development which makes it stand out as the most popular city in the Middle East, with 15.8 million visitors in 2017 and an expected 20 million visitors in 2020.

The city was founded in 1833 and became a centre for fishing, pearling and sea trade, some of which are still practiced to this day. Historic, cultural and contemporary sites can be seen at locations such as: Dubai Museum, originally a defence fort built in 1787 and now transformed into a museum to showcase Dubai’s history, Dubai Creek where you will see beautiful traditional wooden dhows boats used for sea trade, and Etihad Museum which is located at the exact place where the United Arab Emirates was founded in 1971, and now shares stories on how the seven emirates became one nation. We are proud to be contributing to these and other historic and cultural projects within the UAE and the wider Middle East.

Located in Al Quoz, our office is perfectly situated where tradition meets creativity. We are walking distance from Alserkal Avenue which is Dubai’s homegrown hub for the arts, and encourages local artists to discuss and show their work. When entering our open plan light-filled office you will understand why we chose this location (also, seeing Lime Tree Café from our place will bring a smile to your face). Our Dubai team will give you a warm welcome, and serve you dates and coffee to ensure you experience Arabian hospitality right here at our Barker Langham Dubai Office.
